Gilded Antique Box with Hand Drawn Design

This characterful antique metal box has a lovely brass handle and unusually a working lock with original key. The lid has been gilded in gold and silver leaf then decorated with a hand drawn design of silhouetted trees reflected in water. It's a unique decorative piece that's also perfect for storing small treasures. The whole piece has been thoroughly cleaned; the gilded design sealed with several layers of lacquer and the original metal and paintwork waxed and polished. As with all my vintage pieces this has evidence of its previous life adding to its uniqueness, character and charm - there is some age related wear to the exterior and small patches of rust on the interior (now sealed with wax).
