Gilded Deed Box Trunk Coffee Table

This lovely vintage trunk has been gilded with copper and imitation gold leaf, then decorated with a hand painted white magnolia design. The trunk provides useful decorative storage - it could be used as a low coffee table. The original interior has been cleaned, waxed and polished. The gilded and painted exterior has been sealed with several layers of lacquer - this will protect the design but care still needs to be taken, for example standing liquid may cause damage so coasters should be used. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - this has a tiny hole in the base and the key to the lock has been long lost.
