This studio pottery piece is by the late Jim Leadbetter of Sedona, Arizona. The American potter was well known for his Ikebana ware which is becoming popular today in the UK. Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging in its simplest form using minimal stems, traditionally of Japanese origin such as bamboo and cherry blossom which would have specific spitual meaning and allowing the appreciation of the beauty of the individual stems. The bottom of the vase is left unglazed to the outer where you will find the makers mark and an original sticker. Simply arrange a few small stems for a very simple but attractive display. The vase measures almost 8cm tall and 14cm wide. The stem holders are 4.5cm tall. All items are carefully packaged with used or reusable materials before being sent to their new homes....more
