This hand painted vase was made by Cazalas in France and is known as basque pottery. It has an unglazed sandstone tone onto which is painted a pretty scene from the village port of St Valery sur Sommes. On the other side is a large decorative Cazalas makers mark. The vase is glazed on the inner. It date from around the 1960s and is in excellent condition. It stands 16cm tall, 6.5cm across the rim and about llcm across the body.
