This little pail shaped butter dish dates from mid to late century and was hand painted by the Quimper pottery company in France and features a typical Brittany design popularised by Quimper at the time. It is in the shape of a pail with a handle on either side painted with blue dots. There is a wreath of painted blue and red flowers running around the pot as well as a blue and yellow border above and below the wreath. The lid has a dotted handle matching the two on the pail and cut outs either side to accommodate the twin handles and has a painted milkmaid design. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There is a slight blue paint smudge near the top of the pot shown on the pictures. An attractive addition to country kitchen table or to add to a collection. Please browse my shop and if you are interested in more than one item message me so I can adjust the postage cost.
