Hand Painted Vintage Apothecary Storage Box

I love this box, it was sold to me as being a medical box from Sark lighthouse, it was made an obsolete item due to the automation of the lighthouse in 1994 - I have no proof of this but I'm choosing to believe it's true! Painted in watery layers of Annie Sloan Antibes green, Florence, Giverny and Napoleonic blue then embellished with an explosion of hand painted anemones and a sprinkling of dragonflies! The interior is split into sections - some of these panels can be moved around to allow the areas to be divided as required so it's a really useful storage space and would be perfect for art or craft supplies. The entire piece has been nourished and protected with several layers of furniture wax. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - there is a split on the lid - I didn't fill this as I didn't want to cover the box in opaque paint and although there's a lock, there's no key unfortunately.
