Handmade by ME @ PotsAboutPottery a unique ceramic shaving bowl or Suribachi. It is designed to be held securely in the hand from the base, it has a lather building center of rough unglazed ceramic. The rough textured center, helps the bristles of the shaving brush whip up the soap to a good lather and quickly. This bowl has been high fired (1200 degrees Celsius) so it is fully vitrified and waterproof. It is also dishwasher and microwave safe! The base of the bowl is designed to fit snugly in your hand, giving you a firm non slip grip whilst you swirl your brush, (not currently included). This shaving bowl (first 3 photos) is available in the following beautiful glaze: ‘B' Flecked Teal - a beautiful flecked clay body and green/blue glaze which 'breaks' deep brown over the rim. Wheel-thrown with love in my cosy Wiltshire (UK) studio. Made from white stoneware clay and glazed in food safe glazes. Glazes are brushed on in several layers to create the depth of colour you see....more
