This attractive jug is handmade and hand painted. There is no makers mark that I can see but it is typical Portuguese style made from earthenware and has a hand pinched spout. It has a lovely rich cream coloured glaze on the outside and terracotta inside. The hand painted design is of 'bolotas' which is Portuguese for acorns. Portugal is known for it's Licor de Bolotas (acorn liqueur) which I feel is represented by this lovely jug. . There is a typical Portuguese crosshatch design which looks very spiderweb like around the rim and base. There is also a yellow band around the rim and base. It measures 17cm high and about 11cm across. Please browse my shop and if you are interested in more than one item message me so I can adjust the postage cost.
