“His Master’s Voice” Folk Art Door Stop
+ £8.95 delivery (1-3 days)
A great and large example of a scratch made wooden cut out door stop of the dog Nipper, the dog used in the widely known “His Masters Voice” logo. Nipper was a real dog, born in 1884, who belonged to the brother of artist Francis Barraud. Barraud painted Nipper listening to a phonograph, titled "His Master's Voice”. The Gramophone Company began using the image in 1900, and it became their official trademark in 1910. Nipper has become an iconic symbol associated with sound recording and reproduction. This folk art example would make an excellent addition to any collectors collection. Measurements- Height: 64cm x Width: 29cm Length of base: 36cm x Width of Base: 15cm...more
