Hornsea Pottery, retro Saffron coffee mugs (4no). Following the success of the Heirloom range, the Saffron design was introduced by Hornsea in 1970. Designed by John Clappison, it features a distinctive pattern, of caramel-saffron colour circles forming flower motifs on a background of burnt orange. Internally finished in a soft cream colour. Each piece has the maker’s mark on the base, and are dated 1977 see last photo showing the bases. Dimensions (approx): 9cm high x 8cm diameter (10.5cm incl handle). Lovely condition, no cracks or chips. These are almost 50 years old, so may be some minor scratches and signs of use. I have 4no of these - the price is for 4 mugs.
