A beautiful set of Iden Pottery coffee cups and saucers, comprising of 4 cups and 4 saucers. Hourglass shaped mugs in a crisp white glaze with a glistening, iridescent hue layered on top and silver band sitting below the lip of each cup. A rare, and hard to come by set that would make a dazzling edition to any breakfast table! Cups - H: 8cm D: 7cm (opening) Saucers - D: 14cm ~~ Founded in 1959 by Dennis Townsend at his home in Iden, a village near Rye, East Sussex, Iden Pottery was best known for its high quality stoneware which was at one time stocked by Heals and Harrods. Iden pots can sometimes be dated by looking closely at the blue oxide back stamp - in 1974 a small notch was cut in the outer circle, and another each following year. ~~ All items are sold as seen.
