Ivan Taylor Oil Painting of The Wheel Manchester

A contemporary oil on board painting of The Wheel, Cross Street, Manchester by Ivan Taylor, mounted and framed. Signed lower right. Minor wear and tear to the frame. Frame Height: 34 cm Frame Width: 39 cm Painting dimensions: 9.5 x 7.5 in Born in Staffordshire, Ivan showed an early interest in art and exhibited 40 paintings on BBC TV's "Sketch Club". These paintings were later sold by the BBC to raise money for UNICEF. After studying fine art and graphics, Ivan worked as a graphic artist in industry and then became head of graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education Department. He had his first one-man exhibition in 1972 and has been a full-time painter since 1989, supplying galleries in England, Wales, Belgium, France, the USA, as well as doing commissions, and has work in many private and some public collections in the UK and abroad. His work has been reproduced in the "Studio" publication and also put into print. Ivan, who is President of the Society of Staffordshire Artists, has had one-man exhibitions in Dallas Texas and in London and won the Rowland Hilder Prize at the RI Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in 2006....more
