delightful cast iron vintage Japanese Tetsubin, one-cup teapot on later carved wooden tripod stand. Teapot has maker’s mark to base and is in great condition. The small pot has a diameter of 100mm and its overall height with the handle upright is 150mm. The carved wooden stand is not original to the piece but enables the pot to be used without the heat damaging the surface beneath. A pretty display item in its own right, this pot can quite safely be used as a vessel for making the most delicate and delicious leaf tea, giving a slightly sweet taste to the brew.
