This is a rare “Jens Birkenmose “ Ege Art Line Rug from 1985 & is 100% wool Axminster weave. As the name suggests Danish company Ege produced there “Art Line” range though the early 80’s as facsimiles of famous modernist artists painting’s including Salvador Dali, Pablo Piccaso & Piet Mondrian. This one is based on a painting by Danish artist Jens Birkenmose, who is possibly better known in his home country where these rugs are produced, these are valuable, collectible & appreciating rugs & there are none of this design available anywhere.
