This is a large and unusual antique / vintage steamer trunk with a lovely curved domed top. It's been sealed and then painted in shades of teal that accentuate the lovely textured surface and finished with hand painted whales and sea turtles. The exterior painted surface is sealed with furniture varnish and the lovely original bronze lacquered interior has been thoroughly cleaned and sealed with wax. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - this is in great condition, there are some indentations to the top and one small split - I've incorporated this into the whale so it appears to be a scar.
