Large Antique 19th C Polychrome Majolica Planter by Wilhelm Schiller & Sons #261 Floral Bohemia Pottery Cobalt Blue Maiden / Gentleman Motif A large and impressive multicoloured earthenware majolica indoor planter of square form with handles. The piece is heavily glazed and decorated, featuring a maiden and gentleman motifs and two floral displays on opposing sides in 3d form. The four corners depict tapering tree trunks with stunning bark detail. Throughout, trails of stems, brown and green foliage and yellow flowers envelop the cobalt blue background. The pottery planter has several condition issues. The most noticeable is a missing handle followed by damage to one of the upper corners, some petals to the main 3d flowers and some minor chips throughout. Please see final images for further detail.
