This is a magnificent large dish from Turkey in an antique 16th Century style of classic Iznik design with stylised tulips, carnations and other flowers. Hand painted in rich luscious underglaze colours of cobalt blue, turquoise, white and apple-green. Beautiful shaped dish of classic lobed ogee shape with a central well. Painted on the back with a red tulip and signed by the artist Gizem Gini. Hanging hole so it can be displayed vertically if desired. 12 inches / 31cm diameter.
