Sumptuous and highly original set of four dark beech wood framed mid century chairs from Benze Sitzmobel Germany C.1960s ( makers mark). The naturally aged patina of the rattan chair backs perfectly compliments the vanilla tones in the opulent velvet striped fabric from Pierre Frey, Paris ( 'Chiraz' £196.00 Per Metre). The irregular stripes are in deep charcoal, classic red, citrine and olive. This luxury textile perfectly compliments the simple elegance of the chairs, making them very chic without being too fussy. The colours are bold but also shift to much softer tones depending on the light. The chairs are in very good structural order...totally sound joints, comfortable ' zig zag' sprung seats and very minor repairs to the original cane. We have sympathetically refinished the timber and fully reupholstered the seats. Classic, timeless and comfortable.
