A set of 2 vintage Ercol model 449 bow back dining chairs. Original dark brown finish Beautifully designed and crafted model 449 stick back chairs designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol in the 1950/60s. A classic of the Ercol design catalogue. Crafted in English Elm and Beech. Circa 1960s. With an elm oyster shaped seat, beech spindles, top rail and legs, the chair is an excellent example of the quality craftsmanship associated with Ercol. Original maker’s stickers no longer affixed, they are stamped on the base with Ercol’s British Standard mark. There’s a small degree of wear to the varnish which allows the colour of the natural wood to slightly show in places but this surely only adds to the set’s vintage appeal. Frames are sound and strong with no wobbles, no loose joints. Original condition They have been thoroughly cleaned. PLEASE NOTICE: One of the chairs been repaired in the past on one of the spindles and at one corner of the seat. PRICED LOWER ACCORDING TO THIS.
