Stunning 60s desk clock high quality made by Smiths in England A vintage Smiths Teak and Chrome mantel clock from the 60s /early 1970s. This is a piece from the time when Smiths produced very stylish clocks rather than the more traditional clocks they are known for, these modernist cubist clocks are very hard to come by. Elegant geometric teak body in a rectangular shape . Contrasting round dial surrounded in chrome which is subtly placed on top of the main body. It also has its original fully working electro-mechanical clockwork. The brushed metal dial is in great pure modernistic design without numbers. Teak veneer body, dial behind glass with working battery operated Sectronic Battery, this movement from the 1960s till early 70s is a forerunner of the simpler moving magnet movements made by Smiths Industries in England. It is a perfect fit for modern interiors.
