Mid Century Eames Herman Miller Dsw Chairs, 50s

This is an original 1950s Eames fiberglass set of 4 shell chairs with original model sticker and stamp. Stamped with the "Early Cincinnati Milacron (Mercedes) dates it 1958-1965. Patent labels Sticker dates the chairs between 1956-59 A set of 4 fiberglass chairs model DSW by Charles and Ray Eames in Grey "Elephant Hide Grey" with a walnut dowelbase (dsw) introduced in 1951, a year after the original "shell" chair with arms was offered for sale. The back and seat of these chairs are made of a single piece of molded fiberglass contoured to the shape of the human body. The original model was created for the “International Competition for Low-cost Furniture Design” held by the MOMA in New York. The price is for the set of 4 Condition: Original condition Very good overall condition, with just a couple of very small scuffs here and there to the edges of the shells, in keeping with their age, but nothing noticeable.
