Early 1960s lighter oak chest of five drawers. Most probably from British makers Meredew, this one possessing unique carved oak knobs. It’s a classic mid-century design well executed – simple angles and lines to the oak frame and the five drawers are all with their original double shaped oak knobs. Beautiful blonde oak finish which is smooth to touch with a characterful grain. Good size drawer depth and the iconic concave protruding round handles with a nice double edge which give balance to the otherwise utilitarian straight lines. Drawers with dovetailed joints. The chest seats above a plinth base A neat British chest C1960 ready to fill. Dimensions - Overall: Height 91cm x Width 60.7cm x Depth 40cm (42 including handles) Dimensions - Specifically the Drawer Inners: Height 12cm x Width 53.8cm x Depth 31.6cm Condition: Restored condition This item is nice and clean inside and out.
