A wonderfully atmospheric composition of an industrial landscape by the well known Swedish artist Bertil Gadö (1916-2014). Oil on canvas and framed in a silver gilt edged frame with a beige linen inner edge. Deep smoky greys and blues have been used to achieve a well balanced colour harmony. Karl Bertil Gadö was born in Malmö and he was a Swedish painter and graphic artist. Gadö attended the Skåne Painting School (Skånska Målarskolan), Malmö (1933-35). His style favoured abstract expressionism. Examples of Gadö's work are held in the collections of at Moderna Museet and Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and Malmö Museum....more
