Deco inspired Slipper Chair, with the ubiquitous low seat and tall back. Slipper chairs were originally produced in the 18th century for dressing the feet.These 20th Century versions are a much more paired down example, with clean lines and wonderfully curved bare legs. Recovered in Bute Storr Jumbo-Bouclé, by Tom Dixon. Tropical hardwood legs. The modern popularity of the slipper chair is often attributed to the American interior designer Billy Baldwin who in 50's brought the chairs, with the addition of slip covers and box pleat skirts, out of the bedroom and into the living room....more
