Modernist River Landscape - Mid Century Painting

An original Mid Century Modernist oil on board painting dated 1942 by the Swedish artist Svan Grandin (1906-1982) held in a vintage carved wood frame. A highly decorative picture. The artist has used deep colours of blues, reds and ochre to capture a tree lined river with hills beyond, painted in the modernist style. •Oil on board •Signed Grandin and dated 1942 lower right •Framed size 21 1/2”x 24 1/2” (54cm x 63cm) •Very good vintage condition with few very minor surface scuffs due to age. •Carved wood frame with washed finish in vintage condition with minor separation to joints and marks, a secure frame. Notes on the artist: Svan Grandin was born in Sweden in 1906 and studied in Paris in the 1930s. His works are held in the Boras Museum in Sweden.
