A lidded trinket dish in this rare and traditional majolica ceramic from Italy. The Grazia factory has been producing traditional designs of quality Italian majolica since the 1500’s. Based in Deruta, Umbria, Ubaldo Grazia employs artisans to hand paint this Orvieto design of the rooster, using traditional methods. This particular design is medieval in origin, and the cockerel or rooster symbolises good fortune. These majolica pieces are very collectible and sought after. I’ve not yet come across another lidded trinket box, so this piece is a rarity. In good vintage condition, with just a tiny rub to the glaze here and there. Measures 12.5cm length x 8.5cm width x 5cm depth. **Please note: there might be a slight delay to delivery of your order, due to the current UK postal strikes. This is beyond the control of us online sellers, so your patience and understanding would be very much appreciated ☺️...more
