Painted Antique / Vintage Steamer Trunk

This is an unusual antique / vintage steamer trunk with a lovely curved top and sliding latch system that I haven't seen before. It's been sealed and then painted in shades of green that accentuate the lovely textured surface and finished with hand painted whales and sea turtles. The exterior painted surface is sealed with furniture varnish and the original interior has been thoroughly cleaned and sealed with lacquer. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - this is in great condition, there is one indentation to the top and there are minor bumps to the body of the trunk. The interior has wear and areas of rust (now sealed). The latch engages (slide the bar after lifting the latch to open the trunk then slide back after closing before engaging the latch into the lock). The key is unfortunately long lost.
