By Max Clendining For Race Furniture, 1960s A pair of Pica lounge chairs designed in 1967 by Max Clendining for Race Furniture. Original painted plywood frames with original black / grey upholstery and still in fantastic unrestored vintage condition. These Pica lounge chairs are part of the Maximus Range for Race Furniture designed by Max Clendinning in 1967. They are formed from black painted veneered bent plywood. All the units in this range were self assembly and could be made up from off the shelf parts consisting of side frames, Pirelli rubber sling seats, castors and metal security fasteners are still solid and intact. Two of the metal screw caps are however missing. This vintage item has no functional defects, but it does show traces of use. Patina consistent with age and use. The large cushion buttons are still present on each back cushion both front and back. Please review the photos - happy to answer any questions.
