I nearly fell over when I found this out vintage hunting. I had to just pay up and then get in the car and do a bit of research to be absolutely certain what I'd found. This Piero Fornasetti Grandi Maestri plate pays homage to composer Giovanni Paisiello, featuring the intricate artistry and playful surrealism Fornasetti is celebrated for. Made in mid-century Italy, it’s part of the iconic series honouring great classical composers—perfect for collectors or design enthusiasts. Dates from the 1950s. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? What a forward thinking artist - this looks like something you'd buy as part of the modern Fornasetti collections in Liberty or Selfridges. Gold gilt black and white litho print plates a rare find. Makers mark shown in photos. Dimensions: 26cm diam. Pre-loved: in great condition. Perhaps some slight surface aging to the gold, but from my research this seems to be typical of these plates....more
