This is a small squat vase (shape 35) made by Poole Pottery as part of the “Delphis” line. Delphis was introduced in 1963, allowing the decorators to produce designs of their own, each piece being unique. This piece is signed on the back with the monogram used by Cynthia Bennett who was at Poole between 1971 and 1977. The colours are striking, utilizing green, orange, yellow and black against a red background colour. The piece measures 10cm width at the top and has a height of 9cm. It is marked on the underside with the dolphin mark. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks - there is a colour skip on the top edge, original to the making of the piece (see close-up photo) and there are a few white dots which are part of the original firing too.
