Fantastic retro vase, shape no 351, by Poole Pottery in cream. A lovely vase, with a very pleasing and unique shape. In great condition, from the 60s. The vase shape was designed by Alfred Read/Guy Sydenham (1956-1957). Poole Pottery ceased production in the 1980s, having started life as ‘Carter’s Industrial Tile Manufactory’. Along the way Carter (Jesse) joined forces in the 1920s with the designers Harold Stabler and Pheobe Stabler, and potters John Adams and Truda Adams (Carter) forming ‘Carter Stabler & Adams, eventually becoming Poole Pottery Ltd. In great condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. Makers mark on the base, no 42 which dates it 1959-1957, and 351 marked for the shape.
