An outstanding mid-century modernist style still life painting, executed in oil onto board. Simple yet effective in its composition, the artwork presents a group of objects including jugs and bowls carefully arranged across a burnt orange surface that exudes warmth, and placed against a luminous light yellow backdrop. Celebrating the simplicity and beauty found in everyday objects, the earthenware seem to converse with each other, their forms rendered through a sophisticated progression of rich colours. Starting with the lightest shades of yellow on the left of each object, they gradually transform into shades of orange and then deeper, nuanced browns as they ascend towards the right.
