This is a vintage black lustreware tall pitcher produced by Prinknash England Pottery. "The Prinknash Abbey Pottery was founded in 1942 by Benedictine monks when they found a seam of clay during some building work. Their work is typically red earthenware, often with a metallic glaze. The Pitcher has a shiny gunmetal finish on a gently ribbed surface. Although it does not have a makers mark on the base, it does have the triangle of tiny indentations from the manufacturers struts in the kiln, typical of Pricknash pottery. in good antique condition, no chips or significant defects .
