Rare Art deco hood ornament / car mascot bulldog

A pair of amazing MACK Trucks Bulldog Dog Handle ‘Hood Ornament’ / car mascots These have been mounted on wooden plinths to make bookends but could be removed and used for original purpose. These date circa 1932. They are marked MACK design patent #87931 This item is true Objet-d'art, original function and artistic in the cubist manner. The dog itself is adorned with a studded collar. They are made from cast metal in a chrome coloured finish. Condition - There is age related wear and oxidisation. Showing their true age and original function. See pictures. They started using the bulldog in the early 1920's after their reputation in World War I.
