This rare and unusual hand carved goblet or vase if from the Pitcairn Islands and likely mid century or older in age! The Pitcairn Islands are famous as theplace where the crew of the Mutiny on the Bounty landed and settled. The island is noted for its carvers who are said to be descendants from the original crew. The piece is beautifully turned and card to depict a hand holding the cup. It is marked with "Souvenir of Pitcairn". The wood is most likely Miro-wood, which is native to that region of the world, however we are no wood experts!
