Rare vintage 1950’s “Zookie” figurine by Weatherby Hanley of Stoke on Trent, England. A delightful little fish, full of playful character! Hand painted. Zookies were a series of cute cartoon like ceramic figures, which were popular to collect in the 50’s and 60’s. They’re now not so easy to come by and are very collectible. This fish is one of the rarest of the range. He’s in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is a small bit at the tail where it was perhaps dented slightly during the manufacturing process so the glaze has missed slightly. This isn’t a chip....more
