Reimagined Antique/ Vintage Oak Tool Cabinet

This characterful cabinet started life as a tool storage cabinet. It's been completely transformed into pretty decorative storage that belongs in a home not a shed! The whole piece was thoroughly cleaned and sanded before being given washes of dilute furniture paint to allow the woodgrain to remain visible; the interior has been painted in the opaque colour. Frederick is hand painted against a gold leaf sun and is surrounded by delicate translucent magnolia blossoms. The entire piece has been sealed with several layers of furniture wax. It would be perfect as storage for paint brushes or craft tools as there are holes in the shelves where tools used to live. The cabinet has its original brass fixings allowing it to be wall mounted. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - the key to the cabinet is lost and the doors do not have a latch but remain in place unless opened. 53cm x 30cm x 8cm Offers are not accepted on any original art or reimagined pieces....more
