A 1950s bowl produced by Rörstrand of Sweden. Light grey and maroon/claret. Designed by Carl Harry Stalhane, as part of the 1950s stoneware dinner set series he designed at Rorstrand Sweden, named “California” A modern, duotone design, with simple sgraffito motif. It is a great example of the dynamic design in domestic pottery produced in the early part of the 20th century in Sweden. Rörstrand, from the 1930s, became an increasingly designer-led company. Employing, and commissioning many of the leading designers and makers from Scandinavia.
