Scandinavian Mid Century hand painted plate, designed by Olle Alberius for Rorstrand. Marked on the reverse with the Rorstrand crest, VDN F55, P-8 and the design name 'Iduna'. Iduna refers to a goddess, whose golden apples would restore youth to whichever Norse god ate them - and the sun motif on the plate may symbolise this story of renewal. Olle Alberius was a principal designer at Rorstrand from 1963 to 1971, when he left to set up Orrefors Glassworks. Diameter 20cm...more
