Fancy trying something a little more unusual for breakfast? This is a single egg coddler from Royal Worcester, England. To cook a coddled egg, simply crack the egg into the coddler, screw on the lid and put in boiling water halfway up the body of the coddler. Cook for 10 minutes then pull out of the water (carefully!) and check. You can also add all sorts of extra things to the egg such as cheese or ham. These egg coddlers are made of fireproof hard porcelain specifically designed for this use, an iconic bit of British design. Each coddler here holds one egg.
