A very rustic handmade vintage wooden crate, used to store Australian rindless cheddar cheese. Likely dating from the 1950’s. Made from rough cut timber. The box is of simple construction, with nailed butt joints. The hinged lid was added at a later date. The lid also has a rustic leather finger pull, to aid opening. Stamped externally and internally with the rindless cheddar stamp. The box has been lightly cleaned, oiled and waxed throughout. It has a simple rustic handmade appearance, with signs of prolonged extensive usage. It has various historic marks throughout. There is some splintering to the wood on the inside bottom.
