Stunning mid-century black & steel coffee table

In the late 1950s, my dad was in his late teens and working at a fancy company in London. When the boss retired, they cleared out his office, and my dad was allowed to take this coffee table home. It weighs a LOT so I can only imagine how he got it back home by bus to his tiny flat! But it's a really cool piece and I'm a bit gutted to have to sell it. The top is black lacquered over quite a dark hard wood - see the pic of the underside. The legs are steel. I'd have said it looks quite 1980s except I know it was made at least 30 years before that! I grew up with this table in our living room and bashed into the corners many times - probably not ideal if you've got toddlers! But it's mega sturdy, definitely can be stood on / take a lot of weight, and looks absolutely great. There are a few tiny chips to the edges of the lacquer but nothing particularly noticeable. Definitely not mint condition but given its likely age of about 75 years, it's done very well! The app requires me to add a delivery option but but buyers will have to collect - it's too heavy!
