SylvaC vase
+ £5.00 delivery (3-7 days)
SylvaC was a trade name of Shaw and Copestake, a company formed by Mr. William Shaw and a Mr. Copestake, at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries. In 1955, after the constraints of the Second World War, the works were combined with another on new premises. Initially, the company was very successful, products having been sent worldwide. Unfortunately, during the 1970s, there was a steady decline in output due to the recession and Far Eastern competition, and in May 1982, the company closed. Ironically, since its closure, SylvaC pieces have become highly collectable. A creamy white vase in a scalloped shell shape. This is a classic mantle vase by SylvaC, although the name is very hard to read on the base. 6" at highest point 9 1/2 full width 3 1/2 length Flaw shown in the pictures seem to be pre-glazing as it is smooth to the touch.
