Antique Faux Bois Staffordshire Transferware Teapot with Pewter lid 1800’s This unusual antique teapot is an early piece. I believe it is Staffordshire from the early nineteenth century, although it may be earlier. It has a round bulbous shape and attractive smooth, swirly lustre decoration with an iridescent finish and a hinged pewter top and rim. Condition: Very good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The ceramic has no chips, cracks or repairs, the spout is a little worn and there is a little crazing and inside some tea staining. The hinged pewter lid is tarnished and a little misshapen, it has a dent to one side and the rim has worn away in one section, however the hinge is in full working order and I'm sure the pewter could be polished up if preferred.
