A small hand carved deep wooden bowl with handle, originating from the Tutsi Tribe of Rwanda. Featuring an indigenous repair to the centre, the piece is handmade from a singular piece of wood. The bowl is incredibly tactile, no single one being identical. Likely to date to earlier half of the twentieth century, the wood has a deep warm patina and wear aligned with its age. A small chip is visible to the rim of the bowl and there are scratches to the metal plate which are to be expected. Sourced in the USA. 23cm long, 12cm wide....more
