Victorian Brass 'Randell's Clamp' Chamberstick

This beautiful and rare Victorian brass candleholder, features a hinged 'Randell's Patent' clip, used to hold and secure differing sized taper candles. This was considered an ingenious Victorian invention. Perfect used on a side table or mantlepiece, it features a well balanced design, simple looped carry handle, along with a deep bowl for catching wax drips and spent matches. Age: c1880-1900 Size: 19cm W including handle x 5cm H at tallest 25mm diameter socket (fitting a candle up to this size with clip) Condition: In very characterful / well used condition, with some small areas of tarnish and light surface scratches. Irregular shaped pan and finger loop with small dents and insignificant spilts to its edges. The clip holds a candle firmly. It has been uv marked with a previous owners postcode to its base an indication to its value.
