Beautiful antique Victorian mahogany duchess dressing table and matching chair, dating from 1860’s to 1880’s. Crafted from elegant quality mahogany, it has a shaped mirror set within a frame. Stunning carved and scrolled supports and leading to three small drawers. It has a moulded edge to the shaped dressing table top with two larger central drawers. All of the drawers are wooden lined with original turned knob handles. It is raised on large pillar legs with turned detail and a carved foot. This is joined by a shaped platform base, which has an attractive design to fit the chair perfectly with stylish straight back legs with further moulding detail. The top separates for ease of transporting. The chair has an elegant mahogany design with pillar detail, carved shell, fretwork, and knuckle top. Further attractive detail around the frame, excellent turned wooden legs, and a magnificent upholstery seat in a beautiful sage velvet finish. It is a lovely deep mahogany colour, a beautiful patination that completes all the period's charm and character.
