Vintage 1930s Traditional Ware Poole Pottery Small Vase. Measurements are as follows ~ 7cm base, 13cm height, 8cm opening We love the cheerful, clean yet detailed flowers on this vase - the colourful patterned design has a clear influence of the Art Deco Jazz Age. Having researched online to date this piece, we think it would have been made between 1934-1937 although unfortunately we have not been able to determine who painted it. In 1934 the Pottery changed from a traditional red clay to white earthenware body because the Carter and Co pits were becoming depleted. From 1934-1937 the white body of the piece was covered by a pink slip, and the white base can be seen in places where anything has cut through the slip. After 1937 there is no pink slip and the base is all white. As always, we have picked this piece as it will look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
