Vintage 1960s Rectangular Deep Blue / Green / Turquoise Ceramic Platter. Measurements are as follows ~ 25cm Length, 15cm Width, 5cm Height We instantly fell for this ocean blue platter, and its distinctively textured Diamond and Dot Pattern, which we believe was known as ‘Kyte’. Eastgate Pottery was established in 1955 by three former Hornsea employees. It moved to Withernsea, 20 miles south of Hornsea in 1960 when the council sought to bring employment to the town. Sometimes considered as Hornsea's poor relation, Eastgate often purchased moulds were Hornsea Pottery over the years, changing the finish to them, but they clearly made some interesting designs of their own too! We aren't sure of the original intended purpose of this piece - but would use this as either a Fruit Dish, or a purely ornamental piece. As always, we have picked this piece as it would look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. In Excellent Vintage condition....more
