Vintage 50s Pair Of Women's Hardback Books Two "John Long Ltd" books with action packed life/adventure stories accompanied by beautiful dust jacket illustrations. "Maiden Over" By Charles Hatton (1955) a story about female lead "Bobbie" & her journey into playing professional cricket, fame and romance. "Ghost Of A Chance" By Frank Usher (1956) a tale following leading lady "Daye", an artist who paints portraits who researches the life of a murdered man she's been asked to paint. Her tale sees her meeting all sorts of characters along the way, including a ghost! Rare book & extra rare to find with the original dust jacket! Dust jackets stuck to brown paper underneath to reinforce & were once glued to the books, some glue marks/left over paper to the book covers under the jackets & inside covers, some wear/marks/dried glue & tiny edge tears to the jackets, slight page/edge foxing, library reference numbers/pen on the first page of both. "Maiden Over" has the remains of a library label glued into the front, a blue pencil mark down the jacket spine & the 1st few pages have been taped back in, slightly misaligned & yellowed tape. Good & readable condition with bright jackets....more
